The Inn of Sanibel Beach & Golf Resorts

Overview and Results

Renowned for its shell-strewn beaches, abundant wildlife and laid back vibe, Sanibel island presents an intensely competitive landscape for intimate, immersive hotels like The Inns of Sanibel. KKM joined forces with this portfolio of properties in 2019, pioneering a complete website redesign. The result was a responsive, dynamic website that enhanced the user experience, bolstered SEO, leading to a significant uptick in organic search rankings and propelled direct booking revenues to unprecedented heights. In the face of natural disasters and the global pandemic, we provided crucial support through innovative omni-channel marketing initiatives and environmentally-focused tactics resulting in a record-breaking 38% increase in Average Daily Rate (ADR) and 21% boost in Revenue Per Available Room (RevPAR). Unfortunately, in 2022, Hurricane Ian caused catastrophic damage to the collection of hotels that traditionally draw families spanning multiple-generations to their pristine, beachfront locale.  When the rebuilding process began, KKM was there to lead marketing strategy, position a brand refresh, and launch digital marketing campaigns for the grand re-opening of these beloved, boutique hotels.

Fairmont Austin

Overview and Results

A year and a half before its grand opening, Fairmont Austin engaged KKM to orchestrate comprehensive pre-opening marketing, communication and public relations campaigns for the new 1,048 room luxury hotel. KKM took the lead in directing photography, overseeing the design of all on-brand collateral materials and crafting strategic narratives to position the property as a Hotel on a park,” with a "Not your grandfather's Fairmont” image. From positioning a global brand as a community partner to establishing a vibrant website and social media presence, we played an integral role in every step of the pre-opening branding, marketing, and communication strategy. KKM actively generated news opportunities, organized desk-side visits with influential editors, and secured positive media coverage which highlighted the hotel, its vast amenities, and its connection to the environment via a close relationship with Waller Creek Conservancy. The strategic marketing and attentive media relations efforts yielded impressive results, and contributed to over 100,000 room nights booked a year before the hotel's official opening.

Sarasota-Manatee Originals

Overview and Results

The Sarasota-Manatee Originals consist of over 60 independently-owned restaurants throughout Florida’s SunCoast, from Anna Maria Island to  Venice. While these restauranteurs are deliciously diverse in cuisine, they share a passion for dining excellence and a commitment to the local community. The Originals united 20 years ago as a nonprofit organization to identify their region as a culinary destination. With our brand marketing leadership, they showcased the best of their combined culinary offerings to a broader audience. KKM designed the group's collective marketing, advertising and media relations strategies. Additionally, we created the inaugural Forks & Corks Food & Wine Festival's marketing and communications programs, and fundraising goals. Our efforts generated more than $250,000 in media sponsorships and contributed to a revenue surplus of $70,000 beyond the first year break-even financial objective. 16 years later, Forks & Corks is Southwest Florida's premier food and wine event, featuring member restaurants and an esteemed cast of wine makers from around the world, drawing thousands of oenophiles and foodies annually.
